Wrong Side of the Sunrise, Chelsea Rose spoken word music project with Bone and All

So I must admit i have been rather preoccuiped with getting all my body painting photographs ready for the book i am printing, thus i dont have any painting process photos to share of my two paintings in the works. Each track is its own unique treasurbox, adorned with the <strong>poetic spoken word of Artist Chelsea Rose</strong>, whos words conjure and evoke strange truths from the depths of the sacred and unknown.<br /><br />"Wrong Side of the Sunrise" features Artist/Poet Chelsea Rose on five new mind altering tracks produced by Bone and All in the Fall of 2010. It opens with the mystic "My Epitaph", followed up by the backwards zen of "The Great Transformer", then have you breath taken away with "Words From a Predecessor", then really dive deep into the mind couple of which i read peices from out loud for the musical concontion above:<br /><br />"I am the elated Goddess, wild dancing spirit warrior equipped with the full fledged and precious talons of ...life held close to my sweet thighs, rebounding and evolving with the supple repercussions made in the blooming of this cosmic flower.<br />My flesh, holding fast and courageous to this world and its enchantment is made sacred and perfect in its menagerie of strange treasure and fruit.<br />My roots are fleshy and gorged with the sweetness of blood stemming to prove with each rhythmic palpation of my flaming heart, the conviction and blessing of this honored existence.<br />These bones of mine are an architectural prayer that shall remain gleaming white and pure as the moon, like eternal kernels of truth, long after this slippery soft succession of flesh falls and mates with the dirt.<br />Sacred and beaming, my song spirals and weaves worlds with voluptuous tendons of destiny- birthing wildly from my cauldron womb, swelling my breasts with the heavy milk of creation.<br />Know me with your most tender devotion for I am a portal.<br />My insides, pink and mild, the spilt reminders of all that is genuine<br />the self claims the cannibal status of a pawn and fool<br />waiting weighted and exposed to the corrosive embrace that laps thick with eclipsing Recent Pictures and Poems!

Its Friday morning and i am sitting here with a mug of green tea in hand, writing to you. I thought today i would share some recent photos, some taken last weekend, the body painting photos are two that i retouched last night and posted from my shoot with Thierra. The poems are ones i have written in the last couple months.<br />What is it they say? I shot two women with German, Scottish blood, one Micronesian & half African, one Korean, one Vietnamese, one a mix of Irish and Italian, one African! I love it. I hope to keep pulling in a diverse mix of ethnic beauties. Unfortunately it seems to be very difficult to find models with dark skin available and willing to participate in the project. I think this reflects the demographics of Portland ,Oregon perhaps? I do hope to find more darker skinned models to balance out that of the lighter skinned models that i have already painted. We shall see! Yesterday i posted an add on craiglist for pregnant women. i think painting and photograping pregnant women in this series will be an interesting addition. I have already had a few responses so i am hoping to begin scheduling shoots for this!<br />So thats the scoop on where my women's study/body painting and photography project is going.<br /><br />Here are a couple random photos from the previous week that i thought might be fun to share:<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4515947111/" title="All Dolled Up by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="All Dolled Up" height="406" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4040/4515947111_eca0dbe4a2.jpg" width="500" /></a><br />Here i am all dolled up with a bit of makeup on.<br />I got a package in the mail on Monday- it was eye shadow and lip-gloss i ordered from an awesome etsy shop called : <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/torik2009"><strong>Spectrum Cosmetics</strong></a>.<br />I took this picture shortly after trying on the new colors.<br />I rarely wear makeup-unless its for a special occasion like an art opening or something. She is a dear friend who was visiting from Cali. We took a nice long hike on Saturday where we saw a wood pecker, a crowd of vultures shifting in the wind atop the tree canopy, and a small snake with a single racing stripe that ran the length of his scaly body + lots of mushrooms! I have vowed to do more hiking as it is truly the most enjoyable exercise for me and i know i need a lot of it now that i am working in an office building from 8-3 opposed to running around like a chicken with my head cut off all day long at art supply warehouse.<br />-----and that concludes our picture portion of this blog post, now on to some written word!<br /><br />Some of my unedited writings from this year thus far:<br /><br />Poem 1<br />I am a careless heroine<br />with a brave finger against the brow<br />holding face in fuming reverie<br />growling with the entrails of this sorrowing bridge and its treacherous way<br />this convoluted path manifesting as a dagger of drought on my parched spool of tongue that wallows, shifting in steely indifference with the shrugging of half lidded eyes.<br />I stand as effigy, revered burden of glowering aptitude teaming in the splinters of steaming electrical coils, placid with the sharpness to inject.<br />This calibration wrought tight in columns of my spine resting in the nape of unperturbed illusory splendor is ready to spring and command.<br />My battered crown pulsates as a grafting symbol of granulated edict.<br />I am a ruthless heroine<br />My proclamation made deep and luxuriant amidst black opal pupils<br />gone milky in whisper weeping coals, gelatinous with polluted condemnation<br />forever a scourge, mounted thick and groveling in the winding shores of divination thus bestowed.<br />The towers before me are glowing, steely dawn rippling like convulsing flesh, dripping splendors of warm smoggy breath all a glow in the chill of this inky shore.<br />And I stand here, holding this mound of dirt between stakes of armored intent with arms held in the pulsating homage of the sphinx with its claw and feather,<br />a splendor of cruel truth and balancing awe. I happened to be flipping through my sketch book last night and realized i never scanned or posted these ones for some reason. I am pretty sure "the Dread Goddess" will end up my next big painting piece.<br /><br />.....and this morning i wrote this:<br /><br />Reflections I seek, holding a pen in the hallow sting of sun,<br />waiting for the assumption of truth to flow and scribe.<br />waiting for that revelation of inner creeping to speak in simple whispers<br />with all the tenacious infirmity that is needed for the dispelling of shadow and riddle.<br />With enveloping and erotic emergence the nimble stem work of my cellular forecast must collage a sense of things.<br />Even as these indefinite species of spirit haunt and flaunt as a billowing mass of mischievous proof<br />they toy and breed a sense of feathery benevolence, flirting with prescribed succulence in doses of clairsentience.<br />And these melting phantasms with eyes like flowering oracles depict a venomous antidote for the spoils of fear.<br />The cure and its incisors force the wind from the flesh till I am taken and pealed pink, fully frothing and frivolous in dreams.<br />These embryonic fabrics become the very ink, penned with infection as the loops of the collective dichotomy of truth revealed.<br />And so the substance of heaven, it drips wildly as the mind and its gestation is readily handed from glandular gate keepers to the swallowing scope of The Greatest .<br />And THEY know me, just as they shelter the humming mother of creation.<br />These eternal kernels of sprite, they laugh with weightless heroic and languish and solder anew with the ruminants of our ephemeral muscle and bone.<br />And so the master maker with magician hands enveloped in rippling forever holds a seed in each tendril,<br />barking with wild vocation the Immaterial into fires of liberation.<br />And so the frown is now held from upside down in callused consignment,<br />its foggy relevance protruding with agile sanctum, always embedding always replicating.<br />And in a single fracture, molten and quivering the tranquilly erodes down the galloping veins of this elusive majesty<br />Where we ourselves will always be strangers grown thick with the pregnant sap of chaos<br />As goading thoughtlessness is milked like honey, graduating with the sliver of the morning.<br />The lids of the guardian at the gate hold fast as these breaths reiterate an endless cycle worn thin with the supposing of definition.<br />And with the total sigh of serenity, a note of pure ritual confides in the husk of my brimming void,<br />transferring a node of intimacy that is both binding and static<br />The seat of the spirit is unity.<br /><br />-----<br /><br />Just felt like sharing.<br /><br />a lil somethin else i wanted to share: a <a href="http://www.baahar.net/?p=276">GIVE AWAY!</a> that is dedicated to sending some posative vibes and actions to Haiti.
