New Pen and Ink drawings

Hello all,<br /><br />I have been getting back into the habit of drawing and wanted to share with you these two new pen and ink illustrations I did this week:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/5326437220/" title="Alien or Angel? by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Alien or Angel?" height="500" src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5289/5326437220_0eef1bde4b.jpg" width="407" /></a><br />(original pen and ink drawing by Chelsea Rose)<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/5332512460/" title="Bulb Goddess by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Bulb Goddess" height="500" src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5167/5332512460_f70e13a486.jpg" width="408" /></a><br />(original pen and ink drawing by Chelsea Rose)<br /><br />With the cold and darkness of winter it seems I have fallen into a bit if a routine involving a lot of time cuddled up on the couch with my cat, my man, my sketch book and movies. Although recently I have been watching not much else other then episodes of Doctor Quinn Medicine woman( I love that show! I am so glad i can get the episode discs from netflix), Full Metal Alchemist( such a strange story line!) and X files( of course.) Recently I have found that i feel a lot less guilty about sitting around on my rump so much if i happen to be doing some drawing at the same time. So yes, I am sure there will be more drawings soon enough.<br /><br />I was looking through some pictures files the other day and came across this photo:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/5326437186/" title="window into summer2010 by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="window into summer2010" height="500" src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5130/5326437186_86c66b2f69.jpg" width="335" /></a><br />This was taken during last summer. Right-now in winter with all this cold and dark it is strange to realize only a few months ago our lil patch of world was so much hotter and brighter. The weather report claims snow for Tuesday and Wednesday, we shall see about that.<br /><br />Anyhow, I cant even begin to tell you how thankful i am that its Friday.<br /><br />Do enjoy the weekend.<br /><br />Much love,<br />-Chelsea Rose

The devine Dyad WIP and The Buddha Project

Busy Busy Busy.<br />....just started this new painting the other day:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/5098382308/" title="Dyad- work in progress by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Dyad- work in progress" height="335" src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1254/5098382308_60e999f1f5.jpg" width="500" /></a><br />...Been calling this one the Devine Dyad.<br />right now its color base is acrylic with India ink outlines. i have already started painting in the body so the color is pink and purple- very fleshy. This is different from my usual green or blue skinned goddess/fae creatures. I really do love painting my creatures colors like blue and green because this gives them a "raceless" foundation which I think helps the viewer see them as "other" then flesh and bone. However, here in this painting i think the pink does well to pop off of the cool colored background- I will post more process shots soon!<br /><br />...And so the Buddha Project continues and culminates:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidopticlab/5098328027/" title="finished piece by Lucid Optic Lab, on Flickr"><img alt="finished piece" height="500" src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1190/5098328027_8d450e21ca.jpg" width="389" /></a><br />hand made original ebru(Turkish paper marbling) and 3 color screen print by <a href="http://www.flickr.com/lucidopticlab">Danny</a>.<br /><br />and the process was something like this:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidopticlab/5098918906/" title="buddha project by Lucid Optic Lab, on Flickr"><img alt="buddha project" height="135" src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1371/5098918906_7806165405.jpg" width="430" /></a><br />1, 2, 3 !<br /><br />...and another one with diff color combo!<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidopticlab/5103620838/" title="Ebru Buddha by Lucid Optic Lab, on Flickr"><img alt="Ebru Buddha" height="500" src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1419/5103620838_b5afc89945.jpg" width="388" /></a><br />hand made original ebru(Turkish paper marbling) and 3 color screen print by <a href="http://www.flickr.com/lucidopticlab">Danny</a>.<br /><br /><br />....more coming soon!<br /><br />Much love,<br />-Chelsea Rose<br />Lucid Optic Lab

New Pen and Ink drawings + weekend projects and news

3 day weekends are a total blessing, i got a lot of work done!<br />Too bad i was oblivious to this fact come Monday morning. I got up for work 10 mins after my alarm was to go off... so i threw on my clothes, grabbed a hard-boiled egg and ran out the door to get to my bus stop. Got there 2 mins early and waited....and waited...and waited and then thought to-myself " why have i only seen a few cars go bye? why is this Monday so eerily quiet?" And... then i looked across the street to a stores signboard that read " Happy Labor day!"<br />.... So i laughed at myself, went home, watched "Howls Moving Castle" for probably the 42nd time and did some drawing:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4964830399/" title="Tree Maiden by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Tree Maiden" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4112/4964830399_7d053d29da.jpg" width="364" /></a><br />Original pen and ink drawing by Chelsea Rose<br /><br />-this was drawn for a commission I am working on currently. A patron requested I do smaller somewhat more "approachable" version of my other tree maiden painting called <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4513340531/in/set-72157610826099576/"><strong>Rainbow Roots Dread Goddess</strong></a>. Hopefully she likes this preliminary drawing and i will soon be painting her on canvas.<br /><br />I like the drawing enough to be considering offering prints of her for sale. what do you think?<br /><br />Saturday and Sunday were also project filled art days.<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4962524370/" title="Projects by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Projects" height="235" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4150/4962524370_887446922b.jpg" width="400" /></a><br />As you can see my art table got quite busy in the process which resulted in a few finished pieces that are now available for purchase:<br /><br />Green River Spirit:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4962134646/" title="Green River Spirit by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Green River Spirit" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4150/4962134646_343f8260a5.jpg" width="399" /></a><br /><br />Green River Spirit<br />8"x 10"<br />pen and ink drawing over acrylic paint on Masonite board<br />by Chelsea Rose<br /><br />Gloss varnished and ready to hang as is.<br />Just listed for $40. check out the listing <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/55614691/green-river-spirit-pen-and-ink-drawing"><strong>here</strong></a>.<br /><br />also in blue:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4962134362/" title="Blue River Spirit by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Blue River Spirit" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4103/4962134362_08450b80c0.jpg" width="391" /></a><br />Blue River Spirit<br />8"x 10"<br />pen and ink drawing over acrylic paint on Masonite board<br />by Chelsea Rose<br /><br />Gloss varnished and ready to hang as is.<br />also selling for $40. I am then using india ink pens to draw directly ontop of the acrylic color. Often i am by hand reproducing some of my original drawings this way and because of this hands on process each one comes out slightly different in lineweight and detail. I have found this process works really well in creating an elegant and original art piece that i can sell for a very affordable price.<br />I have many more available for purchase in <a href="http://www.lucidopticlab.etsy.com/"><strong>my etsy shop</strong></a>.<br /><br />Also, over the weekend i had fun matting and framing some of my recent 4" x 6" watercolor paintings:<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4962539726/" title="Watercolor Harpy framed by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Watercolor Harpy framed" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4149/4962539726_bcb10c9bf0.jpg" width="371" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/55083553/harpy-in-moonlight-original-watercolor"><strong>Harpy in Moonlight</strong></a>.<br /><br /><img src="http://ny-image3.etsy.com/il_430xN.172099003.jpg" /><br /><a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/55084034/faery-ah-glow-original-watercolor"><strong>Faery ah Glow</strong></a><br /><br /><img src="http://ny-image3.etsy.com/il_430xN.172099847.jpg" /><br /><a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/55082954/fish-of-perception-original-watercolor"><strong>Fish of Perception</strong></a><strong><br /></strong><br /><img src="http://ny-image2.etsy.com/il_430xN.172100306.jpg" /><br /><a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/55082100/pixie-conversation-original-watercolor?ref=v1_other_1"><strong>Conversation with a Pixie</strong></a><strong><br /></strong><br />......i found it really interesting how different the paintings looked when framed! Honestly its the first time i have nicely framed any of my work and i really enjoyed it. Too bad matting and framing can be so expensive because it can really make a huge difference presentation wise.<br /><br />...Anyhow the ongoing list of projects continue. For this week's Friday blogpost i will be showing a step by step "work in progress" documentation involving silk screening and the drawing fluid method.<br />I also have a few body painting sessions coming up so stay tuned.<br /><br />Best wishes,<br />-Chelsea Rose

Winged Offering acrylic painting + Wise Woman body painting + Evolve Mushroom screen print

Happy Friday to all.<br /><br />I finally got my act together a posted a full version of my most recently finished painting.<br /><br />Winged Offering:<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4795354286/" title="Winged Offering by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Winged Offering" height="420" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4139/4795354286_3b1e4316c2.jpg" width="437" /></a><br /><br />14"x14" (box framed/gallery wrapped stretched canvas)<br /><br />Original acrylic painting by Chelsea Rose<br /><br />...and to think it all started with a sketch i found in an old drawing book of mine:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4665016537/" title="sketch by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="sketch" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4067/4665016537_c6a5bc6897.jpg" width="380" /></a><br />....i have kept every sketch book i had all throughout middle school, high school and on into my adult years. I have them all ready at hand right next to my art table to skim through for inspiration- mostly finding them a goldmine to expound upon. I look at the books and see stored potential, stored energy eager to manifest someday into a newly executed drawing or painting. I also find it endlessly fascinating to look at the sketchbooks and see my style of drawing slowly morphing and changing direction. I am eager to see how my style changes in a few short years.<br /><br />I am about a weekends worth of work away from finishing another painting sparked by a drawing of mine. Painting will be based off of this pixie:<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/3949350910/" title="Trinity by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Trinity" height="240" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2480/3949350910_d9c5f2c1d1_m.jpg" width="177" /></a><br />You can view process shots <a href="http://lucidrose.blogspot.com/2010/07/3-day-weekend-of-art-body-painting-art.html">here</a> of me working on laying the first foundations of acrylic color to the painting.<br /><br />I also wanted to share two more shots i posted from my Wise Woman photoshoot with the wonderfully talented and open minded Suzanne Owens-Duval:<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4776660705/" title="Wise Woman by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Wise Woman" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4117/4776660705_5115dc2195.jpg" width="372" /></a><br />Wise Woman<br />(body painting and photography by Chelsea Rose<br />Model:Suzanne Owens-Duval )<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4777289286/" title="Wise Woman by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Wise Woman" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4140/4777289286_f3b59e32a3.jpg" width="358" /></a><br />Wise Woman<br />(body painting and photography by Chelsea Rose<br />Model:Suzanne Owens-Duval )<br /><br />i had to post both of these because i wasn't sure if i preferred her wonderful regal profile or her full sweet face with such warm and intelligent eyes. Which do you prefer?<br /><br />Danny made a new screen of a recent design of his:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidopticlab/4785141703/" title="evolve by Lucid Optic Lab, on Flickr"><img alt="evolve" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4077/4785141703_6cb0e25233.jpg" width="355" /></a><br /><br />Evolve<br />mushroom screen print and design by <a href="http://www.flickr.com/lucidopticlab">Danny</a>.<br />No doubt inspired be the amazingness of the world of mushroom, their extremely important role in life on this planet and the amazing amount of potential the organisms present. if you have not see this already check out this mushroom/fungi video: <a href="http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/paul_stamets_on_6_ways_mushrooms_can_save_the_world.html">6 ways mushrooms can save the world</a>.<br />...I am sure Danny will begin screen printing "Evolve" onto shirts very soon so feel free to send in custom orders!<br /><br />Peace n Love,<br />-Chelsea Rose

More Body painting session photos + new ink over acrylic paintings

So, in case you noticed i missed my blog update for last Friday i was in California visiting my family- so yee be warned this is a rather lengthy blog post since i am trying to catch up! I arrived back in Portland late night on Saturday and had Sunday to acclimate back into the groove of things. I was able to post 3 more photos from my most recent body painting shoot and i also took the time to document and list some new artwork for sale. Check it out:<br /><br />Queen Omega -<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4740393053/" title="Queen Omega by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Queen Omega" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4078/4740393053_dc912dd988.jpg" width="400" /></a><br />(Body painting and photography by Chelsea Rose<br />Model: Deonte)<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4740390987/" title="Queen Omega by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Queen Omega" height="265" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4140/4740390987_80c9970d47.jpg" width="430" /></a><br />(Body painting and photography by Chelsea Rose<br />Model: Deonte)<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4740387947/" title="Queen Omega by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Queen Omega" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4122/4740387947_4f52702742.jpg" width="357" /></a><br />(Body painting and photography by Chelsea Rose<br />Model: Deonte)<br /><br />....And there is a lot more of these to come! In about an hour i shot about 400 photos- which has left me with a bunch to pick and choose from. it has taken me awhile to narrow the catch down to a chosen few but i am making progress.<br />I am looking forward to this weekend's shoot with a lovely elderly woman- she will add some mature beauty and wisdom to the project- widening the age range and body type spectrum. I know i have said it before... but its interesting to see the twists and turns this project has made. Its unfurled to be a lot grander then i had visioned and im interested to see where and how it grows next.<br /><br />In other news i finished a commission for a lady whom i had met last month when Danny and I were vending at "the Craft in the Village" over in Vancouver Washington.<br />The commission was for my "Love thy Self" illustration done on a green acrylic painted canvas.<br />here is how it turned out:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4741414238/" title="Green Mermaid- Love thy Self by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Green Mermaid- Love thy Self" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4101/4741414238_859ab7d179.jpg" width="394" /></a><br />Love Thy Self<br />green mermaid<br />8"x10"<br />ink over acrylic painted canvas<br />by Chelsea Rose<br />......I hope the lady likes her finished commission piece!<br /><br />I made a duplicate of the Love thy Self mermaid ( of course since i make these by hand the second one differed from the first) in an odd shade of yellow:<br /><img src="http://ny-image1.etsy.com/il_430xN.154543369.jpg" /><br />Love Thy Self<br />yellow mermaid<br />8"x10"<br />hand drawn pen and ink illustration and acrylic painting on Masonite board<br />by Chelsea Rose<br />Finished with gloss varnish<br />Back made ready to hang<br />....and unlike her sister above- she is available for purchase!<br />Currently selling for $35 check out the online shop listing <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/50347401/yellow-mermaid-ink-over-acrylic-painting"><strong>here</strong></a><br /><br />I also made a purple mermaid:<br /><img src="http://ny-image1.etsy.com/il_430xN.154472737.jpg" /><br />Lilac Ball Gown<br />6"x10"<br />hand drawn pen and ink illustration and acrylic painting on wood<br />by Chelsea Rose<br />Finished with gloss varnish<br />Back made ready to hang<br />She is available for $20...check out the listing <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/50347689/purple-mermaid-ink-over-acrylic-painting"><strong>here</strong></a> for more pics or to purchase.<br /><br />...and a quick pick of the two of them together resting on my easel as their varnish dried:<br /><img src="http://ny-image3.etsy.com/il_430xN.154472767.jpg" /><br />I have been making these ink over acrylic art pieces for months now and i love them!<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4435425408/" title="works in progress by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="works in progress" height="335" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2678/4435425408_6c030c63ce.jpg" width="500" /></a><br />The process is fairly simple. I coat my canvas or pieces of wood with white gesso and then once it dries paint the background flat bright color. I then go in and use an India ink pen by Faber castell to do my line work. This allows for a lot of freedom and since the process is quick and fun it makes the artwork especially affordable and customizable. Feel free to place a custom order request - if you have a certain <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/sets/72157610826119454/"><strong>drawing</strong></a> of mine you want visited in this manner on a certain color. Id be happy to do such a commission!<br /><br />In other news, while i was out of town danny held the fort by himself and set up a small booth of our art wares at the Last Thursday Artwalk on Alberta st fair:<br /><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4136/4740994623_fc40464e43.jpg" /><br />The fair was swelling with people and vendors hanging out in the bright sunlight- i am so sorry to have missed it! But there is always next month now that the rain is pretty much backed off a bit.<br /><br />I also have one more special something to share. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/lucidopticlab"><strong>Danny</strong></a> released a new podcast of music he has been working on under the name Bone and All.<br /><img src="http://boneandall.podomatic.com/mymedia/thumb/1302932/460%3E_2955885.jpg" /><br />check out his newly released music <a href="http://boneandall.podomatic.com/entry/2010-06-28T00_17_51-07_00"><strong>here</strong></a>. Its pretty trippy/psychedelic stuff and i make my first debut in his music in the 4th track where he used clips he recorded of me reading a poem of mine!<br />So yes...do have a listen to.<br /><br />...and so its Monday and i have to get to work, so i better get going!<br /><br />Best wishes to all and have a blessed week.<br />-Chelsea Rose

New artwork and work in progress

Its Friday. We made it.<br />Unfortunately the Last Thursday art walk on Alberta st was rained out so we didn't get to partake in those festivities. Its been rained out two months in a row! I do so hope next month will be favorable. I miss the community, the art, the exchange and the madness of the Alberta art walks. I normally love rain so I know the rain dance....just not the rain go away dance. Ah well, the art walk will manifest when the time is right!<br /><br />In the meantime i am releasing some of my new creations:<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4564867768/" title="Green Pixie vibes by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Green Pixie vibes" height="414" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3430/4564867768_950726e532.jpg" width="500" /></a><br />Green Pixie<br />9"x12"<br />pen and ink drawing over acrylic painted canvas.<br />by Chelsea Rose<br />Gloss varnished and ready to hang as is.<br />Going for $45.<br />...and she is ready to go to a good home. check out her sale listing <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/45903917/green-pixie-vibes-ink-drawing-over"><strong>here</strong></a><strong><br /></strong><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4564231159/" title="Blue Wind by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Blue Wind" height="500" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3393/4564231159_da8f8e0263.jpg" width="428" /></a><br />Blue Wind Spirit<br />9"x12"<br />pen and ink drawing over acrylic painted canvas.<br />by Chelsea Rose<br />Gloss varnished and ready to hang as is<br />Going for $45<br />check out the sale listing <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/45903092/blue-wind-spirit-ink-on-acrylic-painting"><strong>here</strong>.</a><br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4564234389/" title="Pink Pixie by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Pink Pixie" height="355" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3412/4564234389_1def05a87c.jpg" width="500" /></a><br />Pink Pixie<br />9"x12"<br />pen and ink drawing over acrylic painted canvas.<br />by Chelsea Rose<br />Gloss varnished and ready to hang as is.<br />only $45<br />listed for sale <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/45903534/pink-pixie-ink-drawing-over-acrylic"><strong>here</strong></a><br /><br />....I love making these! I have a bunch of canvas and Masonite boards that i have begun to paint base colors on so that i can create some more of these ink drawings over acrylic.<br />I have a bunch of others listed for sale in the <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/LucidOpticLab?section_id=5532602"><strong>original artwork section</strong></a> of my etsy shop...so take a peak!<br />Also, If you have a certain <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/sets/72157610826119454/"><strong>pen and ink drawing</strong></a> of mine that you wish to have revisited in this manner please feel free to ask for a custom order! You are welcome to indicate what color background you would like said drawing to be done on.<br /><br />I also wanted to share the bit of progress i made on the painting i am currently working on:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4564239113/" title="work in progress by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="work in progress" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4068/4564239113_2c966ac6c3.jpg" width="400" /></a><br />this is a 11"x14" painting that i started last weekend. She is based of off <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4141252596/in/set-72157623715783287/"><strong>this drawing</strong></a> of mine that i made while watching a neat cartoon movie about Wonder Woman's amazonian princess origins. Seeing all the fierce strong warrior women was inspiring. I got to doodling and this daunting creature came out. I think she is some kind of druid, high priestess warrior woman who is "endowed" with an extra set of "windows to the soul." I wonder if they shoot laser beams?! :P<br />A friend came over last night and when i asked if this particular creature was menacing he said simply " she looks like a business woman of sorts"...i thought that was a fun response.<br />I still need to do work to her. i feel the painting is missing something- i need to do something with the background perhaps. Maybe a city skyline or a simple dark oval vignette would do. not sure. I also need to flesh out and work on the hands....and add more layers of color and shine to her. She does have a good bit more color then is present in this photo...i think the lighting washed her out a bit.<br /><br />After work today Danny is picking me up and whisking me away to Vancouver Washington for a great time to be had at Guerrilla Media's newest gallery/venue. It will be a music and art night featuring some local folk bands and "graf" inspired art.<br />the invitation reads as follows:<br /><br />Time: April 30, 2010 from 8pm to 11:45pm<br />Location: Guerrilla Gallery<br />Organized By: Olin<br /><img src="http://api.ning.com/files/tlr0NWVNPaT5QA80C4kZ7*Foj19Pss5n3j1WLMM4ReSqhVWodQoy-eZVo*6z8pOfb0KVQUwxkPozQ37LcathGxXHWM6emrCo/guerrillafolkflyer.jpg?width=400" /><br />Guerrilla Folk<br />Music by: Aram Arslanian, The Shivas<br />Abstract, neo-contemporary and graf-inspired art by: voidc, drop, ecru and atoms.<br /><strong>Come out and plan the destruction of the status quo with fellow conspirators.</strong><br />Friday, April 30rd<br />8pm-midnite<br />Drinks w/ ID<br />Guerrilla Gallery<br />1001 Main St. (Upstairs)<br />Vancouver, WA 98660<br /><a href="http://www.guerrilla-media.com/"><strong>Guerilla-Media.com</strong></a><strong> </strong><br /><a href="mailto:contact@guerrilla-media.com">contact@guerrilla-media.com</a><br /><br />......sounds yummy, no?<br /><br />I hope everyone has a splendid weekend.<br /><br />Much love and many blessings,<br />-Chelsea Rose

Apparition of Truth- more body painting photos from the series

So its Monday and in many ways i feel like clawing my own eyes out, roasting them in garlic and feeding them to my cat. But i will refrain. I promise.<br />The weekend was wonderful. I did not have a body painting photo shoot lined up so i used my extra time wisely by working on my painting in process, getting things ready for the art fair seasons(next month!) and a lil bit of house cleaning and soul searching too.<br /><br />I also released 2 more shots from my Apparition of Truth shoot with Wenseay:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4396915955/" title="Apparition of Truth by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Apparition of Truth" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4043/4396915955_c78aa7b4c6.jpg" width="400" /></a><br />(body painting and photography by Chelsea Rose<br />Model: Wenseay)<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4393317184/" title="Apparition of Truth by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Apparition of Truth" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4054/4393317184_a6164b8950.jpg" width="400" /></a><br />(body painting and photography by Chelsea Rose<br />Model: Wenseay)<br /><br />My next shoot is lined up for the 13th. Should be fun!<br />....The more i have thought about turning this body painting project of mine into a series that i could show in a gallery, the more i realized how out of budget printing and framing all of these photographs would be. So, today on my way home im planning on stoppin by the library to see if they have any HOW TO books on Grant writing. That would be a great way to deal with the expenses of printing and framing all the photos from this body painting series. Its worth a shot, at least.<br /><br />I have confirmed that i will be having my solo show in April at InOtherWords feminist book store. Which means i am kicking my butt into hyper gear to see how many more paintings i can produce before i have to begin the hanging.<br />Speaking of painting, danny took this photo over the weekend while i was fine tuning some of the details in the painting i am currently working on:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4392482703/" title="painting the sea witch by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="painting the sea witch" height="335" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2777/4392482703_6340d7b82a.jpg" width="500"></a><br />I should be done with this one in a day or two...whether i like it or not, it will be time to move on!<br /><br />....oh! Did i mention i woke up on Saturday with a guttural need to find a yard sale? Well danny and i ended up finding one. It was small and the woman was mainly selling toddler clothes but look what i found in the free box:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4393660968/" title="my saturday bonnet by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="my saturday bonnet" height="1000" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4032/4393660968_7ae8988219_o.jpg" width="369" /></a><br />yes, i found this wicked cool Bonnet in a for free box! I love it. Its very sweet and simple with browns and yellows. It will be perfect to wear in the summer during the art fairs to keep my face out of the sun. Yay for bonnet love and free finds : )<br /><br />Also, check out this Mandala painting that danny did over the weekend:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidopticlab/4396617875/" title="Anahata mandala by Lucid Optic Lab, on Flickr"><img alt="Anahata mandala" height="500" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2723/4396617875_4e8feecbe9.jpg" width="375" /></a><br />(water color and ink mandala painting by Danny)<br />i think this one is my fave out of the 6 that he has done so far. you can view the rest <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidopticlab/sets/72157623351354720/"><strong>here</strong>.</a><br />Purple and green are my fave colors, especially when combined and i love the scale pattern that he used on this one. Cant wait to see what he does next with these Mandalas of his.<br /><br />Yep, so we still have a lot of stuff to get done in time to the art fairs.<br />Busy busy.<br />Hope all is well with everyone.<br />Peace n Love,<br />-Chelsea Rose
