Art Hanging for my Goddess in All of Us body art photography show

Wow! I fear it has been awhile since my last post. I have been pretty busy working out the details of the Goddess in All of Us body art photography gallery opening.<br />It seems like everything is falling into place now and the actual art opening is really just about a week away! whoaaa.....<br /><br />On Tuesday we hung all the photos:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/5248346256/" title="Goddess In All Of Us - hanging by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Goddess In All Of Us - hanging" height="239" src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5005/5248346256_c972526481.jpg" width="400" /></a><br />This picture was snapped during the final moments of hanging. Tiffany Ruth( my friend and owner of <a href="http://www.truthartspace.com/"><strong>T.Ruth Artspace</strong></a>) and <a href="http://www.flickr.com/lucidopticlab"><strong>Danny</strong></a> were the masterminds behind the way the body of work was put up on the wall.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/5247743023/" title="Goddess In All Of Us - hanging by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Goddess In All Of Us - hanging" height="235" src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5125/5247743023_2152ecfd64.jpg" width="400" /></a><br />From left to right: Tiffany Ruth, me and Ann, who was the first model I painted and photographed for the series.<br /><br />...So now you got a sneak peak of the show! I hope it peaked your curiosity :)<br /><br />If you are in the area on Dec.16th I urge you to come and check out the opening:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/5145172306/" title="Goddess in All of Us - art show by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Goddess in All of Us - art show" height="500" src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1207/5145172306_c08fd1027f.jpg" width="335" /></a><br />At the opening i will also be offering up <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/5208211396/"><strong>my first ever self published art book</strong></a> for sale which contains 50 photos from my Goddess in All of Us project. I will also have a box of 4"x6" single prints avilaible for purchase.<br /><br />This weekend I am watching <a href="http://www.truthartspace.com/"><strong>the gallery</strong></a> on Sunday while Tiffany is away so if you are around come on in and say hi. I will be hanging a bunch of my new acrylic paintings in the upper loft of the gallery. The plan is to have the paintings avilaible for view and purchase for the night of the opening...so there will be plenty to take a gander at!<br /><br />Also, the same night of my opening just a block down the steet Tiffany has organized a "Pop Up Art show" which will be featuring multiple local artist, crafters + live preformances!<br /><br />I hope to see you there.<br /><br />Best wishes,<br />-Chelsea Rose

Featuring the late J Dilla's little brother<a href="http://illajmusic.com/"> Illa J</a>,<i> Voyage</i> pays homage to the golden days of Detroit hip-hop...this is the kind of sound that is missing from most of mainstream hip-hop these days. Cris has previously collaborated with some of the best french MC’s such as LUNATIC, KERRY JAMES, and OXMO PUCCINO<span style="font-style: italic;">, </span>jazz legend-activist KAHIL EL ZABAR (ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO), folk-soul singer AYO, world-renown Cabo Verden legend CESARIA EVORA and has done remixes for THE ROOTS, RZA, ERYKAH BADU and PHAROAHE MONCH & MR. COMPLEX. For his debut solo project, he gathered an international roster of heavyhitters like Illa J, Large Professor, the late Baatin’, Wildchild, M.E.D, Cappadonna, K Banger, Phatkat, Ursula Rucker, Blackmilk and more. Last year, we had a chance to build about the album- you can read my interview with him <a href="http://lichiban.blogspot.com/2009/04/art-money-interview-with-cris-prolific.html"><b>here. </b></a><br /><div style="text-align: right;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">[artwork by Tim Okamura] </span><b><br /></b></div></div><b><a href="http://www.facebook.com/CRIS-PROLIFIC/140751881256#%21/pages/CRIS-PROLIFIC/140751881256%20">connect on facebook</a> </b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrw6g-X86OYHBk_8cv_Di4LJHv5fPH7KNVidmWAdknev8Rw_BhfIxbBIKGrz5BnZ2Tt2rZIQLetS0WzyJAPao-hczDQtuG9lmbNFHmuKmVj_Ew1ocOxJnqcmwFY8fksKwx7ZckGifw-8o/s1600/crispro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div></div>
