HEAT!! ONRA NYC debut album release party feat BUDDY SATIVA w/ SATURN NEVER SLEEPS, DJ SPINNA, MIKE SLOTT, SNACK N CMISH, MOUSTACHIO

<div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">I haven't been excited about a live show as this one in months. Some I know, some I just discovered, but this is a super awesome line-up. Hailing from Paris,<b> <a href="http://myspace.com/onra">ONRA</a> </b>is finishing his North American tour spreading the good vibes with his new album, <i>Long Distance</i> (All City Records)...it was one of my favorite albums this year. [Check <a href="http://lichiban.blogspot.com/2010/04/interview-future-sound-of-paris-onra-x.html">my interview with him</a> to find out more.]  Also on board with ONRA, Paris-based producer Buddy Sativa, Philly's space-ambassadors  <a href="http://saturnneversleeps.com/">SATURN NEVER SLEEPS</a> with Rucyl Mills & King Britt (scroll down for <a href="http://lichiban.blogspot.com/2010/11/sound-is-vibration-interview-with-rucyl.html">my interview below</a>), Brooklyn's favorite <a href="http://djspinna.com/">DJ Spinn</a>a, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/mikeslottbeats">Mike Slot</a>t, <a href="http://www.snackmode.com/">Snack & Cmish</a>, and Moustachio...promising to be cosmic vibes. People who know me, know that I stay in the lab most of the time, I don't go out that much or else nothing would get done. But live music has been a passion of mine since I was 14 and could sneak into a nightclub to catch a band,so I do go out to see live acts to get inspired and get that 'fix' you get from seeing other artists get free on stage. It was definitely all worth it, <a href="http://thepeterhadarshow.com/">Peter Hadar</a> was on fire and Dam's last performance -headlining Dame Dash/Creative Control sponsored secret show at UNDER100 - with his killer band was one of the best shows I've been to...real raw shit...thank u for making me FEEL FREE! </div><a href="http://www.myspace.com/dafunkydrumma">[J1</a> -percussion, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/computerj">Computer Jay</a> -keyboards, <a href="http://groweyez.podomatic.com/">Gro Weyez</a> percussion & Dam Funk -vocals, keyboard & gets on the drums too</div><div style="text-align: center;">"It'sMy Life 2010"<br /><object height="300" width="400"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><param name="movie" value="http://www.facebook.com/v/1506600178500"><embed src="http://www.facebook.com/v/1506600178500" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="300"></embed></object></div><div style="text-align: center;">Master Blazter live/DJ set was packed at the Commodore BK. </div><div style="text-align: center;">J1 & Dam live set :: Havan Joe & Computer Jay</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q202/licsi777/Dam-Funk-ComputerJay-j1-lichiban.jpg" /></div>

GALACTIC FUN :: DÂM-FUNK w/ Master Blazter Historic NYC Live Debut Performance

<div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q202/licsi777/damfunkBOWERYBR-lichiban-title-600.jpg" /><img src="http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q202/licsi777/damfunkBOWERYBR-lichibanDF-600.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;">With a full-house chanting 'Dam-Funk' for several minutes before and after the show, the highly-anticipated New York debut of <b>MASTER BLAZTER, </b><a href="http://www.myspace.com/damfunk">DÂM-FUNK</a>'s new live band featuring<b> Computer Ja</b>y and <b>J-1 </b>along with<b> GroWeyez & the surprise gues<a href="http://www.myspace.com/pbwolf">t Peanut Butter Wolf</a></b><a href="http://www.myspace.com/pbwolf"> </a>was a historic performance...they were definitely feeling the love from NYC. I'm not into any type of hype, I just love good music and I recognize diamonds before others tell me about them. I first saw him perform last year on the Stones Throw tour, so I was really curious to see the new phase of his musical journey. (Check out my interview with him from last year <a href="http://lichiban.blogspot.com/2009/06/freedom-in-funk-interview-with-dam-funk.html">here</a>). Having a live band on stage just completed Dam's sound and took it to a completely new level. One of my favorites, "Mirrors" sounded off-the-hook with the added vocoder, Computer Jay's crazed spacey keyboard action and J-1's heavy drumming, and almost all the songs got a new twist from the live instrumentation. He smashed it with the surprise joint (at least for me) "It's My Life" --that one showed a completely new, more of the hard-rock fan side of him, further proving that he can't be pigeonholed (don't quote me on the title, see bottom video). </div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><object height="385" width="480"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tJRyZVqWhKw&hl=en_US&fs=1&"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tJRyZVqWhKw&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="385" width="480"></embed></object></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;">Computer Jay, Waajeed, J-1, Dam-Funk</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q202/licsi777/damfunkBOWERYBR-lichibanMB-600.jpg" /><img src="http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q202/licsi777/DamFunk-lichiban-Bowerybackstage.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Again, all I can say, next time he is around, go and experience it yourself...I could try to analyze it, but it wouldn't really do justice to the actual experience. I made a joke to him after the show that 'Dam Funk is going to become a cult', and in a way I believe it- being at the show was like participating in some cosmic energy exchange with him being the portal/space messenger- people were transformed after the show (Earth, Wind & Fire's spiritual world comes to mind). My friend & one of my favorite producers, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/waajeedandthebling47group"><b>WAAJEED</b></a> (PPP, Bling47) and I have joined forces to document the event and to do an interview with Dam and the other two members of Master Blazter, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/computerj">Computer Ja</a>y & <a href="http://www.myspace.com/dafunkydrumm">J-1</a>.
