Lots of new Art thingys for sale in my etsy shop!

So, its Monday and I have stuff to share!<br />I played hooky from selling my art at the Portland Saturday Market over the weekend. I know, bad form indeed. But! More Work In Progress painting and Tie Dye SALE

Woohoo! I am going to play around with it more and see what i can do to help enhance it. I had really liked the background how it was before adding the city in, so had been going back and forth with myself on whether or not i wanted to stick to my plan and paint Babylon burning. I think i am liking it. Perhaps its helped push my intended meaning with the piece. The painting will most likely be titled " The Prophetess of healing." Its about the cycles and balance of life. The ebb and flow of death and renewal. Body Painting Commission Photos and Original Watercolor Paintings for sale!

It proved to be a fairly mellow week with some much better behaved weather that did not leave my brain melted into a puddle between my feet.<br />On Tuesday Danny and I drove out to Scholl Oregon to meet a photographer and his pregnant model for a body painting commission.<br />The photographer was hoping for a somewhat "earth mama" vibed body painting since he intended to photograph the maternity shoot amongst Oregon's lush greenery.<br />While i worked Danny took some photos of the process:<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4902985729/" title="body paint commission by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="body paint commission" height="335" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4079/4902985729_d99fa7b846.jpg" width="500" /></a><br />As seen in the above photo i started the body painting by blocking out some color and then going into it to create detail and shape in order to create flowers.<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4903572064/" title="body paint commission by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="body paint commission" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4098/4903572064_4b95522816.jpg" width="355" /></a><br />The flowers were inspired by the big "dinner plate Dahlia" flowers.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4903001441/" title="body paint commission by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="body paint commission" height="500" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4099/4903001441_3326193225.jpg" width="348" /></a><br />The lotus was a fun addition with its roots delving into a very mysterious eye. Sidewalk Art Sale + Finished painting

This weekend was lovely with all of its sunshine and activity. It seems Portland had come alive, to be quickly followed by rain again. Oh well, at least we had a nice stretch of sunny weekend before the rain returns.<br />On Saturday Danny and I were to watch <a href="http://www.truthartspace.com/"><strong>T.Ruth art space gallery</strong></a> for the day. We had the idea to set up a lil sidewalk art sale to see if we could catch the interest of the passer byes. I really am able to focus and sit there and paint for hours.<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4695045282/" title="Painting inside T.Ruth Artspace gallery by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="Painting inside T.Ruth Artspace gallery" height="308" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4002/4695045282_44249f46f4.jpg" width="450" /></a><br />While i do love my home art room....working at home can be tough because there is always plenty of things to distract me, mainly my cat, my love and the computer...not to mention my patio( which was just beckoning to me all weekend because of the nice weather. All most all of my herb and flower seeds have sprouted! I hope they grow up quickly so i can enjoy them before the summer is gone and the cold seeps back into place.)<br /><br />So i painted in the gallery from 1-6pm and was able to finish the painting i was working on<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/lucidrose/4694424387/" title="final touches by lucidRose, on Flickr"><img alt="final touches" height="284" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4043/4694424387_2ecbc33ba8.jpg" width="450" /></a><br />On Sunday i managed to paint the sides of the canvas black, sign, date and varnish the painting. Today when i am home from work i will do my best to get a good, crisp photo of the finished painting in its whole to share.<br /><br />On Sunday i was also able to schedule another body painting photo shoot for this coming Sunday the 19th! It will be another white paint on dark skin painting/photo session. I hope it all works out and that the plans do not fall through!<br />Also excited to learn that Danny and I will be putting some artwork into a group show in Vancouver. The theme is Freedom. Now i have gone in and done a dark vignette around the subject while adding more highlights and shading into the main details. I'm pretty much finished now i just have to work on the hands...so hopefully i will have some time this weekend to get it done and photographed to share come Monday. We shall see...i might be busy garage sale hunting for rugs, sofas, dressers and patio chairs. Its perfect for spring and summer. ...this is truly a one of a kind dress, you wont find another like it! The purple dress was found in a super groovy thrift shop and it had just begged for a new creative makeover. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/lucidopticlab"><strong>Danny</strong></a> hand designed the mushroom and then hand screen printed it onto the dress and a few other shirts. The screen print has since been retired and this is one of the few articles of clothing with the print that has yet to sell! Plans are made to be broken- recounting Lost Thursday and the weekend

I have noticed in my short life thus far that plans made tend to be broken. For the art walk that i had been rambling about for some time, that was to occur last Thursday, was indeed canceled by the unpredictable rain of the pacific north west.<br />I had also made plans to do another body painting photo shoot on Saturday but Friday night received a text that undid those plans. I enjoyed turning the alarm clock off, sinking back into bed with the knowledge id get to sleep in on Saturday instead of rush off to a photo shoot.<br />That pretty much set the tone for the rest of the weekend. I didn't leave the couch much. I read books, with a warm sleeping cat on my lap and a mug of tea within reach for the better part of Saturday and Sunday.
